It is a PhD project under the supervision of Prof. Angela Casini on the development of organometallic gold complexes as inhibitors of zinc finger proteins. The peculiar nature of this PhD is that the candidate should be based at TUM for most of the time, where Prof. Fritz Kühn  (http://www.ch.tum.de/molcat/index_eng.shtml ), will provide support to the student.  Moreover, the candidate will have the possibility to visit Prof. Angela Casini in Cardiff every year to complement the synthesis part with biological and biophysical methods, depending on the development of the project.

Ideally, the candidate is a synthetic inorganic/organometallic chemist who is eager to learn about metal compounds reactivity in biological systems.

The PhD position (3 years) which should start 1st October 2016.
