Pilar Lamata Cristóbal was born in Navarra, Spain, in 1958. She received her Ph.D. in 1983 at the University of Zaragoza under the supervision of Drs. D. Carmona and L.A. Oro. She was appointed Associate Professor, in 1986, and full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry, in 2011, at the University of Zaragoza. Her current research interest is focused on the development of chiral transition metal catalysts, as well as in their application to asymmetric catalysis.
