Francisco J. Fernández-Alvarez received his Ph. D. in 1999 at the University of Alcalá (Madrid). He was postdoctoral assistant at the University of Zürich from 1999 to 2001. In November 2001 he joined the University of Zaragoza as postdoctoral researcher. In September 2003 he got a position as “Profesor ayudante doctor” at the “Centro Politécnico Superior” of the University of Zaragoza. In 2005 he was awarded with an “I3P”-contract by the Spanish Council of Science-(CSIC). In 2008 he got a position as “Profesor Ayudante Doctor” at the Faculty of Science of the University of Zaragoza. In 2011 he got a permament possition as “Profesor Contratado Doctor” of the Inorganic Chemistry Department at the University of Zaragoza, where he became Profesor Titular in 2019.  His main research interests are Organometallic Chemistry and the application of Organometallic complexes in catalysis, where he is co-author of a number of scientific papers and of two book chapters. In particular, his team has explored the utilization of hydrosilanes as hydrogen source in catalytic processes as for instance CO2 valorization, dehydrohalogenation, silylation and hydrodren generation processes.
